Zaaheen

A Mem0 alternative for people who just use AI apps

Mem0 is a memory service for developers to build into their own AI apps, and its MCP server keeps your memories in your Mem0 account online. If you're not building an app and want one memory for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor that stays on your own computer, Zaaheen is made for that, with a normal installer and nothing to configure by hand.

What Mem0 is

Mem0 gives developers a memory they can add to the AI products they build, through an API. It has a free Hobby plan with 10,000 memories added and 1,000 searches a month, then Starter at $19 a month and Pro at $249 a month (Mem0's pricing).

It also offers an MCP server, so apps like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can use your Mem0 memory directly. You need a Mem0 account, and the quick setup runs a command that needs Node.js. Mem0's docs are plain about where things live: "Nothing runs on your machine", and the memories "live in your Mem0 account, not on your computer" (Mem0's MCP docs). Its OpenMemory page describes memory for "every MCP-compatible coding agent" (OpenMemory).

Where Zaaheen differs

  • Where your memories are kept. Zaaheen keeps them encrypted on your own computer. Our servers handle sign-in and your subscription, and never receive your memories.
  • Who it's for. Mem0 is built for developers. Zaaheen is for anyone who uses several AI apps: you install it like any other program and connect each app from its Agents tab.
  • Apps. Both reach Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Zaaheen also connects to the ChatGPT app for your computer.

Does a shared memory hold up across apps? We tested ours: five AI apps on one Windows computer, sharing one Zaaheen memory, answering eight questions about the person.

Where Mem0 is the better choice

If you're a developer adding memory to a product of your own, Mem0 is built for exactly that and Zaaheen isn't: it has an API, a free plan, open-source code and options to run it yourself. It also suits you if you'd rather your memory lived online and followed you to any computer.

Where Zaaheen falls short

  • It runs on Windows and on Macs with Apple chips only, with no Linux or phone version.
  • Your memory lives on one computer; there is no sync between computers yet.
  • It has no API for building your own apps, and it isn't open source.
  • After the 30-day trial there is no free plan.

Mem0 and OpenMemory are names of their owner. We have no link with Mem0. Facts checked on 13 October 2026; if anything here is wrong or out of date, tell us at customerservice@zaaheen.com and we'll correct it.
